Horizon

In my earlier blog posts, I said I was obsessed with Forza Horizon 4. One day I was playing it and I found a level that paid tribute to the classic series:

"Here we go" is one of the first sentences you hear from the narrator whenever you start a new game in every generation of Crazy Taxi series. In this level in Horizon, I had to drive an old, yellow muscle car and rush to the cliff to perform a "Crazy Jump".

Comeback of the disappeared population

2020 was a special year for all of us, probably. For me, I realized for the first time that our world, or country, or era is not peaceful. I watched the news that said China was fully geared to face the virus. I also got in a "flight ticket cancelled-ordered another one" loop where I sent money to flight companies for free. I further saw the western world slowly became aware of the virus. I did my first covid test where they put tubes inside my nostril, hurting. I had never experienced any of these before.

I never heard about "work from home" or "Zoom" before I was forced to hear about them... When the pandemic was first seen in China, I thought it was not of my business. But on a day in March, things happened all of a sudden: all the public areas became closed, and I had to work at home from that day on, baffling.

When everything including work, study, entertainment and personal happened at home, there was no distinction between what was "work" and what was "not work". It looked like I was doing leisures 24/7 and it also looked like I was working 24/7. And I just let time go by like this. I did not know what I really did in that lost time. I had not been updating my blog for very long!

Of course, because I did nothing, I had nothing to write.
